Dr. Hagge is a husband, father, and orthodontist with a deep love for patient care. Inspired by his Grandpa Jack, a respected medical doctor whose motto was, "The patient comes first", Dr. Hagge knew he wanted to leave behind a legacy that reflected his grandpa’s selfless devotion to serving others. Little did he know that he would carry on the same legacy of helping patients from all walks of life here at Century Orthodontics!
After earning his bachelor’s degree in health sciences at Brigham Young University in Idaho, Dr. Hagge attended the UCLA School of Dentistry, where he received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery. There, he realized his passion for orthodontics and the lasting impact that comes with creating a confident, beautiful smile. He went on to complete his orthodontic residency and earn his Master's of Science in Oral and Craniofacial Sciences at the University of California, San Francisco, where he was instructed by some of the leading orthodontists in the profession.
Today, Dr. Hagge is thrilled to impact the lives of North Coast patients by providing outstanding orthodontic care. In addition to sharpening his clinical talents through continuing education, Dr. Hagge aims to give his community an exceptional patient experience by lending a generous listening ear, providing truly customized solutions, and keeping your best interest at heart. He’s here to be a trustworthy friend on your journey towards your brightest and boldest smile yet!
When he’s not at the office, you can find Dr. Hagge making quality memories with his family. He and his lovely wife, Nicole, have three precious kiddos: Ashtyn, Jack, and Emery. They’re also proud dog parents to their lovable labradoodle, Penny! Whether it’s making homemade pizzas on Friday nights, playing by the ocean, or taking a hike in the Redwoods together, Dr. Hagge cherishes every moment with his loved ones. He also volunteers as a coach for the Humboldt Youth Soccer league.
Dr. Hunt is a third-generation orthodontist who absolutely loves what he does, and it shows! Growing up in a large ranching family that settled in Humboldt County in the 1860s, Dr. Hunt was proud to follow his grandfather and father into orthodontics, heading up their family-owned practice in 1981.
Dr. Hunt earned his Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree from the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry in San Francisco. Just after graduating dental school, he attended a two-year residency program at the University of Southern California, receiving his specialty degree in orthodontics. Flash forward, and Dr. Hunt has humbly served the North Coast community with over 40 years of orthodontic excellence. He feels grateful to pass his practice down to Dr. Hagge, an orthodontist who shares his strong work ethic and unrivaled passion for patients.
His favorite part about his profession is developing close, unique relationships with patients and their families. Dr. Hunt values the long-term relationships he has made with so many people in the community over the years, and always enjoys when a patient pops into the office just to say hello.
Dr. Hunt has been married to his wife, Jan, since1981. Jan is a retired speech pathologist who worked with brain injury and stroke recovery. They raised their three children in Humboldt County. Courtney is on the faculty at University of Oregon, teaching public relations for the School of Journalism. Established by three generations of orthodontists, our legacy was forged by family, but transcends a last name. Our story begins in Arcata, where a wholehearted orthodontist named Dr. Vernon Hunt founded the practice in 1916. Formerly known as Hunt Orthodontics, he opened up his second location right here in Eureka in 1922.
His son, Dr. Everett Hunt, joined the practice in 1945 after serving four years in the Navy during World War II. Practicing with his father for nine years, he became the first orthodontist on the North Coast to become board certified by the American Board of Orthodontics. Over the following 40 years, Dr. Everett Hunt treated hundreds of patients in Humboldt and Del Norte counties.
Dr. Howard Hunt joined his father in 1981 as one of the first third-generation orthodontists in the world. Like his father and grandfather, he’s played a fundamental role in the leadership and evolution of dentistry and specialty orthodontics.
Selected by Dr. Howard Hunt, Dr. Hagge joined the practice in 2021. Like those before him, his impressive credentials and clinical skills, along with his warmth and dedication, made him a natural fit to carry on the tradition and legacy of Hunt orthodontists. Today, Dr. Hagge is the proud owner of Century Orthodontics, where he’s honored to carry on over 100 years of smiles.
Thanks to the generations of patients who continue to trust us with their smiles, our office has been voted the best orthodontic provider by the Times Standard and the North Coast Journal for over 20 years in a row!
